Deirdre Mc Sharry knew she had found something special - she had never felt anything so soft in her life - a fluffy yet lightweight bath towel. Better still, it didn't scratch or irritate her sensitive skin.

As an ex-fashion buyer she knew the fabric quality came down to two things: thread quality and manufacturing expertise. But the label wasn't in English... Discovering the towel was in fact “Made in Japan”, she booked a one-way solo plane ticket to Tokyo, with a mission to find the source.

Within a few days, relying on GoogleTranslate and Japanese kindness, she had discovered Japan’s prestigious textile region of Imabari. Deirdre had found the origins of the ultimate towel and in that moment, le nudie was born.
