Towel Care

Our expert textile partners in Japan have been making and caring for organic fabrics for over 70 years. Their expertise and experience in quality and excellence extends, from sourcing the finest cotton, to best care practices to extend the life of your towels.

Laundry

Cotton LOVES water. Machine wash with enough water so stains can be removed easily. Using a pre-wash cycle can prevent fluff.

Use of organic detergent is preferred over synthetic detergents.

Avoid fabric softener which damages the pile in the fabric and consequently reduces the towel's absorption properties and causes fluff.

Do not leave towels wet as bacteria can breed and unpleasant odours can develop.

After laundering, we recommend wringing the towel dry (if a low spin cycle is used) before drying.

Drying

We recommend shaking your towels before hanging to dry.

Shaking your towels 10-20 times allows the pile to breathe and return to its original form. Your towels (and your arms) will thank us later!

Hang to dry is a bright and airy place. Direct sunlight will impact colour fastness over time for dyed towels.

Using a tumble dryer will support softness over time if used sporadically. Don't forget to shake your towel before and after tumbledrying.

Thread Maintenance

Avoid washing your towels with zippers or beaded embroidery that could catch the pile in your towels.

Sometimes you might experience a loose or pulled thread. We recommend scissor-cutting any loose or pulled threads.
